Change Pending: Beauty in the Mist of Chaos

CHANGE PENDING… is an interactive exhibition and campaign curated by eight young Philadelphians who participate in The Strategic Design Fellowship run by Humanature and housed at Drexel University’s Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation.

As part of the Lenfest Journalism Institute’s Every Voice / Every Vote initiative, we created "Change Pending…." a year-long media and community engagement initiative to target Philadelphians ages 18-30 and capture their experiences, desires, and ideas at the intersection of the city's present and possible futures.

 The first installment of the project called "Change Pending: Beauty in The Mist of Chaos," exhibited at the Center for Architecture + Design. The exhibition focuses on the compounded effects of two key themes:

• The unrelenting cycles of grief, trauma, and loss experienced by young adults growing up in the city
• The challenges of transitioning into the workforce and adulthood, encompassing professional development, income accessibility, and economic stability.

This is a transitional year for the city’s leadership and our project will support them by amplifying the current things youth and young adults are worried about and what we want prioritized for our future.

The exhibition is open on Monday through Friday 9am-5pm from Thursday 4/20 through Tuesday 5/2.
