Philadelphia launches Kensington Quality-of-Life Tracker

(Inquirer) Mayor Cherelle L. Parker’s administration is launching a new data dashboard for the city’s Kensington neighborhood as a way for residents to track progress on crime, vacant property remediation, and other quality-of-life indicators.

Kristin Bray, the mayor’s chief legal counsel and the leader of the data initiative, called Philly Stat 360, said the launch of the public dashboard is part of a new phase of the city’s plan for Kensington geared toward empowering residents to “take back” the neighborhood after two years of an increased police presence.

Not long after taking office in 2024, Mayor Parker walked the streets of Kensington, a neighborhood that has long suffered from crime, blight and open-air drug activity. The visit, which wasn't her last, was part of a broader Kensington Community Revival plan. Here are some of the steps Mayor Parker has taken related to the neighborhood thus far:
