Jessica Li, a junior at Friends Select, said she was concerned about efforts by the Trump administration to rewrite history and remove portions considered “divisive.” Trump requested that the Department of the Interior, which oversees the National Park Service, remove certain content from parks and museums in March 2025.
“We’re here because we think history is really important to preserve, and the whitewashing of history is negatively impactful to our country,” she said. “I think what’s happening right now isn’t political — it’s right and wrong — and we need to acknowledge and preserve history here.”
